GLASGOW COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Zola’s steelpan recordings featured in Valtos’ music for the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, held on 23 July 2026 in the presence of His Majesty King Charles III and members of the Royal Family.
The ceremony brought together musical traditions from across the 74 nations taking part in the Games. Zola’s steelpan featured within the Caribbean section, contributing an authentic Caribbean voice to the recorded soundtrack accompanying the ceremony.
L’espace Sauvanie

Tommy Khosla, Nirmal Chohan and Zola came together at L’Espace Sauvanie in France for a collaborative residency exploring the meeting point between electronic music and live instrumentation.
Bringing together steelpan, tabla and sitar, the project explored the interplay between Caribbean and South Asian musical traditions, electronic production and live improvisation, developing new material through experimentation and spontaneous performance.

CLOUD ROCK 4 ALBUM

A steelpan cover of Put Your Records On was recorded by Zola and sampled by POP MORRISON, the solo project of Stereophonics drummer Jamie Morrison, for his experimental album Cloud Rock 4, released in December 2025.
The steelpan recording brings a distinctive Caribbean texture to the album’s experimental sound, reimagining the familiar track through a completely different instrument and production style.
